Introducing our Flagship Course...
ME-101: Introduction to Arduino & Electronics
A hands-on introduction to the Arduino Micro-controller and Beginning Electronics. This is an expanded version of our original Intro to Arduino Class with a more streamlined approach (we've done this class for over 400 students now!) and a deeper focus on electronics as well as Arduino.
You will learn:
- Arduino Microcontroller basics
- The waterfall model of electricity
- Units of electrical measurement and Ohm's Law
- Interfacing digital inputs and outputs
- Interfacing analog inputs
- Writing clear and concise C code
- Working with resistors, LEDs, switches, & potentiometers
- Programming Topics Including:
- Constants and variables
- Using functions to compatmentalize code
- Working with arrays
- Generating random numbers
- Creating musical tones
- And more...
Final Project:
Once you have mastered the basics you will put your skills to use building a working version of a two-button electronic memory game using LEDs and buzzer tones. By the end of the course you will have seen the entire product development process from beginning design to hardware implementation to software development and testing.
You will need:
- A Windows, Mac, or Linux Computer
- Free Arduino software from www.Arduino.cc
- An Arduino Starter Kit containing at a minimum:
- An Arduino compatible microcontroller board
- A USB cable
- A solderless breadboard
- Breadboard hook-up wire
- Several LEDs and matching resistors (about 330ohms)
- A couple of push-buton switchs and 10K ohm resistors
- A potentiometer
- A piezo buzzer or a small speaker
